Privacy Policy

Last updated: January 2024

Our Commitment

LTE SpeedTest is built with privacy as a fundamental principle. We believe network diagnostics should be transparent, secure, and respectful of your personal information.

// Zero Data Retention

We do not store, sell, or share your test results. All speed test data is processed in real-time and discarded immediately.

Information We Collect

Our speed test collects only the technical data necessary to measure your network performance:

  • Download Speed — Measured by downloading test files of known sizes
  • Upload Speed — Estimated based on download performance
  • Latency (Ping) — Round-trip time measurement to our test servers
  • Jitter — Variance in latency measurements
  • Connection Metadata — Browser type, screen resolution (for responsive display)

What We Don't Collect

We explicitly do NOT collect:

  • Personal identification information (name, email, phone)
  • IP address tracking or logging
  • Location data beyond what's needed for routing
  • Device fingerprinting
  • Third-party analytics or tracking cookies
  • Any data shared with advertisers

How Data Is Processed

Speed tests are executed directly in your browser through Cloudflare Workers:

// Technical Process

Your browser makes HTTP requests to test endpoints. Timing and size data is collected client-side and displayed only to you. No results are transmitted to our servers for storage.

Cookies & Local Storage

We do not use tracking cookies. Your browser may use local storage strictly for:

  • Remembering your display preferences
  • Caching static assets for faster loading

All local data remains on your device and can be cleared at any time through your browser settings.

Third-Party Services

Our speed tests use the following third-party endpoints for measurement:

  • httpbin.org — Provides test files for download measurement
  • Cloudflare Workers — Hosts our application and routes requests

These services may log standard server access logs. We have no control over their data practices, but they are only used for technical measurements.

Open Source Transparency

LTE SpeedTest is open source. Our code is publicly available for review, so you can verify exactly how our application works. You can audit our source code at any time.

Children's Privacy

Our service is directed to a general audience and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Since we don't collect personal information at all, this is inherently not applicable.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Significant changes will be noted prominently.
